Walk The Line: 2005 Vogue Shoot

I know, I know another Vogue shoot I hear you cry! You know I can’t resist Vogue magazine, but it’s been a while since I came across a shoot that really caught my eye (Marie Antoinette and Anna Karenina sure did though). Until I came across this one that is. Featured in November 2005’s edition of Vogue magazine and shot by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz, the lovely Reese Witherspoon and (the amazing looking) Joaquin Phoenix get into character as Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash in this Walk the Line inspired shoot. The movie was just about to be released and Reese wasn’t long away from nabbing her Oscar. I love the film, I love the music (their versions of the iconic songs are amazing), I love these two and I love this shoot. The shots are really so beautiful; amazing fashion, backdrops and lighting used. When I die, I want to come back as Reese in this moment in time!

Phoenix and Witherspoon took a crash course in music for their roles in the film.

As the down-to-earth June Carter Cash, Witherspoon had no problem letting it fly.
Born in Nashville, otherwise known as “Music City USA,” Witherspoon grew up listening to June Carter Cash, Dolly Parton, and Loretta Lynn.
