Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick Collection by Rimmel: Review

Rimmel9

I’m probably the last person in the world to get a chance to try the Kate Moss Lipstick Collection by Rimmel (and we know how I’m more than slightly obsessed with lipsticks and chubby sticks), but these gems are worth talking (or in this case, writing) about. Launched last year, In honor of Kate Moss’ ten years as the face of Rimmel London, the brand released a series of Lasting Finish Lipsticks created exclusively by Kate Moss. I bought four shades in the range: 01, 02, 05 and 12, ranging from a deep red, bright pink and a soft candy coral (all of which look great on those with the fairer skin tones too, but there’s a shade for all skin tones in this collection). I look for a few things in a lipstick:

  • I tend to primarily buy longwear lipstick (I hate glossy lipsticks that you have to keep re-applying, especially during work).
  • Pigmented so that the colour really stays on the lips.
  • Non-drying. I hate a lipstick that will stay put all day but dries the heck out of your lips so much that their like sandpaper.
  • Cute packaging (I’m a sucker for nice packaging).
  •  A good price.

These lipsticks tick all those boxes. These are satiny-sheeny, full of pigment and film-formed to last. Once applied you can tell that there’s an ingredient in the mix that helps them cling to lips but they’re not as drying as a longwear or a matte formulation, they stay put and give the lips a nice bit of moisture – yay! Each contains rich, creamy texture that stays put, while vitamins C and E provide essential antioxidant protection. There’s also a very pleasant scent and a nice sheen plus full opacity on the lips. In fact they contain, pretty much everything I look for in a lipstick complete with the cute packaging. You get all this for a complete steal at €6.95 each! You can’t ask for better than that.

I compared these to the latest Mac lipstick I bought and reviewed, and I have to say that at the moment, I prefer these! They do exactly the same job (and in my opinion they are far longer lasting) and are half the price! Okay, they don’t have the same shade variety (there are currently 11 shades available), but with the gorgeous reds, pinks and coral shades on offer,  you’re bound to find a shade you like.

Have you tried the Kate Moss Collection yet? How does it rate to other budget lipsticks you’ve bought in the past? Tell all in the comments section!

  1. Have become a recent convert to Revlon, of all brands. But will be interested to try these out.

Ha, I’m a Revlon convert too! Their Lip Butters are amazing! I love these as well though, they stay on for ages and the colour range is great. I was never a massive Rimmel lipstick before now, but these really are super.

  3. You know what stops me from buying ALL of these? That they’re not named. It annoys me more than it should. You picked great colours though. Budget-wise, I’ve been liking the NYC lip stains. Was devo when I went to buy more and realised I already had every colour.

I completely understand; I also find it very annoying that there’s no names for each colour! It’s funny that you should mention NYC, I’ve only just discovered the greatness of the range and will be reviewing products from it in the coming days.
